Liz,

I found your blog while researching the complaint process against CPM's. My own home-birth last June produced a healthy live baby, and a bad case of PTSD. The former of which I'm grateful and very lucky, the latter a result of my midwife's shoddy reliance on her "intuition" and subsequent negligence. I was truly heartbroken to read of Aquila's death, and appalled beyond words that Faith merely received a slap on the hand by the review board. I think of you and Aquila very often, even though I've never met you, or your family, and only know of you through the web. I know I'll never forget her, or your story.
I also live in Austin, and interviewed at Centrevida with June, not Faith, in December of '09. I ended up choosing another home-birth midwife, and I regret the decision greatly, though I've suffered very little, next to what you have endured. Your stillbirth art is beautifully haunting. My favorites are "Affliction", "Fearfully Made", and "Jars of Clay". Willow Grace is gorgeous, really just perfect, and one of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen. So yes, I am a "lurker", one who admires you and your strength immensely.
