large families ROCK!

i love my growing family :)

here are some links:
101 reasons to have another child
mega families
large family resource

some things i love about having a large family:
everyone helps
i love to see all the car seats and boosters in the car
i love serving up all the kiddo portions on plastic plates
i love how the big ones love and help care for the little ones
i love that there is always someone to give you a hug
i love that i am very rarely bored
i love a challenge!
i love when the big ones teach the little ones something
(like last week the boys taught Lucca the continents )
~and most of all i love Love LOVE how much hotter my husband gets the more kids he fathers. he is seriously one hot daddy :)

this week

well, we are finally settling in now!
i hired a house helper. she is wonderful- she is coming three days a week for a few hours so i can catch up on paperwork, and go to appointments and run various errands. i spent so many years BEING the household help, it is really fun to have the roles reversed. Also, since i have so been there i have a very fair set of expectations and feel like my house is a good job to have ..lol
she actually told me my kids are well behaved. ROFL... i told her, "just wait till they warm up to you !"
but really they are sweet kids, but if they were perfect i wouldn't need the help!!

great poem!

No Children!
Edgar Guest

No children in the house to play--
It must be hard to live that way!
I wonder what the people do
When night comes on and the work is through,
With no glad little folks to shout,
No eager feet to race about,
No youthful tongues to chatter on
About the joy that's been and gone?
The house might be a castle fine,
But what a lonely place to dine!

No children in the house at all,
No fingermarks upon the wall,
No corner where the toys are piled--
Sure indication of a child.
No little lips to breathe the prayer
That God shall keep you in His care,
No glad caress and welcome sweet
When night returns you to your street;
No little lips a kiss to give--
Oh, what a lonely way to live!

No children in the house! I fear
We could not stand it half a year.
What would we talk about at night,
Plan for and work with all our might,
Hold common dreams about and find
True union of heart and mind,
If we two had no greater care
Than what we both should eat and wear?
We never knew love's brightest flame
Until the day the baby came.

And now we could not get along
Without their laughter and their song.
Joy is not bottled on a shelf,
It cannot feed upon itself,
And even love, if it shall wear,
Must find its happiness in care;
Dull we'd become of mind and speech
Had we no little ones to teach.
No children in the house to play!
Oh, we could never live that way!

Grocery day

yuck. grocery day. it can be quite a chore taking four kiddos to the store. there is always some point in the trip where both sebastian and lucca are crying, and i know someone around me is thinking- why on earth does she have so many kids.but, hey thats what its like living in a high tech town. four is a huge family. I still think it is small in the scheme of things. i mean, people have 12 kids- i only have 1/3 of that!!.haha
but seriously TLC is running a great series called "kids by the dozen" with stories of different large families. last night's family had -get this- 13, yes thirteen BOYS and one girl. as you can well imagine sports were a big part of their day...haha again
SPEAKING babies, i just learned that my only sister in law, Rashana is pregnant with #2!!! yay!!!!
she is due in nov, as are two of my good friends. must be something in the water:)
