Wow, I don't know how you got that done while caring for all of those children! I hope it turns out to be well worth all of the effort. Aquila will never be forgotten with a mom like you!
Liz, I just came across your story. I'm so sorry for your loss. Have you thought about talking to media about your story? I'm considering doing a series about various birth methods and decisions. My email address is on my blog if you're interested. I live in your city.
Baby Making Mama - Liz has been trying to get the media to report on her story for quite some time. It would be so wonderful if you could do a story about her and Aquila.
Hi there - Baby Making Mama- I think that I recognize you - and if - it is you - I love you guys ! If you do a story - please take good care of "our Liz" - and present her story and others like hers - in a truthful, respectful and comprehensive manner. Thanks so much for posting.
I just want to thank you for directing this to NARM. I am a supporter of home birth, and have commented here and on your threads on MDC before (I'm a wary member when it comes to MDC, but I still visit occasionally for some things), but I also am very, VERY much in favor of improving education and licensure standards for CPMs, and along with that goes wanting much more transparency and accountability. I know there are excellent, well-educated midwives out there, but there are also nightmares like Faith. I hate that some parts of our 'community' try to ignore that. And I'm disgusted by the actions of the "board" in your case, too. Regulating organizations have also got to start making serious improvements.
Again, just wanted to reach out in appreciation, and let you know that another person who supports the option for home birth also recognizes some very serious problems with the current situation, and who has read your story and heard your voice and feels indebted to your courage.

Do you know how long to expect to have to wait before hearing back from them?

Good luck, Liz, I will be praying that something comes of this.
