to the oregon midwives

a little bird told me yesterday that some of you have been talking about me...that some of you are very distressed that i am coming to your fair city. Some of you are worried i might shake things up, and topple your stauts quo-

thanks for making my day!

i hope any crappy cpms or unlicensed "midwives" are shaking in their boots at my arrival. I have great plans to change Oregon's midwifery situation to something that benefits mothers and babies- not woman who are too lazy or ill informed to get a real education or license.

if you refuse to get a license- i have no respect for you
if you have dead babies under your belt- i have no respect for you
and if you keep yourself in business by emotionally manipulating your clients - i have no respect for you

i also am not afraid of you- you have no power over me....

see you soon !

Oh, how I love this. You speak the truth, and they're afraid of the truth!!

I bet they ARE scared of you. They're scared of me and I've barely started in this blogging business. You already have a known name, lots of loyal readers, and a reputation for exposing the truth. They should be scared, as they have a lot to hide and we aim to uncover it. Their sweet deal of being able to do whatever they want (even if it endangers lives) unhindered and unmonitored is effectively over. Keep up the good work!

Here in Canada midwives by law HAVE to have a university education and have passed exams and be licensed in midwifery. Perhaps your advocacy can cause USA to eventually have the same requirements?

I don't understand how they knew you were moving to Oregon?

You are awesome !

Pogue Mahone - yes these are defiantly my goals- i want our system to like Canada's :)

As an Oregonian, I'm thrilled to read this.

As a woman whose daughter is permanently disabled because of a botched homebirth, I'm thrilled to read this.

As the friend of a woman whose baby died due to the same midwife...well, you get the picture.

Please contact me, as I'd love to help fight this in any way I can.

Driving south on 35 this afternoon, I passed the Aquilla Lake exit south of Dallas and was reminded of your "Lurkers come out" post and thought it was about time I did. Admittedly, I was a mild taker of the Kool-aid a(thankfully, after the birth of my little girl). Reading your story on mdc was the big turn around for me, and prevented me from disseminating any of the "trust birth" nonsense to anyone around me. I cannot pretend to fathom the magnitude of your loss, but as a mom and LVN it is plain that no one should suffer at the hands of a false "medical professional". I can't thank you enough for your endeavors, and if you ever need a hand or errand from here in Texas, you need only say the word. I fully expect you to destroy them in Oregon, and I wish you the best.

tarenbaylock- yes i have passed that exit often. thank you for your kind words...

Keep us posted Liz. Check on you mostly every night before I go to bed. Love to you.

I'm so jealous of your move. I would give anything to move to the seaside! I am so far away. I've not even been to the sea since Calypso's ashes were scattered there. Hopefully soon

I'm a bit late to your post, but GO, LIZ!!! I'm so happy you'll be in Oregon. I'm in Seattle, and if you ever need anything from your neighbors to the north, just holler!
